Bu dersin genel amacı, öğrencilere Avrupa Birliği'nin Avrupa'nın geleceğine ilişkin zorluklara ve fırsatlara yönelik strateji ve politikalarının araçlarını ve perspektiflerini güçlü bir şekilde kavramalarını sağlamak ve öğrencilerin AB'nin siyasi, ekonomik ve güvenlik ilişkileri bakımından geleceğe yönelik vizyonunu anlayabilme yeteneklerini geliştirmektir. Bu ders, Avrupa Birliği'nin girişimi olan ve Birliğin vatandaşlarının barışçıl ve daha yaşanılabilir bir geleceğe sahip olması için bir gündem belirleyen 'Avrupa'nın Geleceği Konferansı'ndan yola çıkılarak hazırlanmıştır.

Bu ders, Avrupa Komisyonu Erasmus+ Programı tarafından desteklenen bir Jean Monnet Modülüdür. Ders iki bölüm olarak tasarlanmıştır; birinci ve ikinci bölümler. Dersin ilk bölümü, Konferans sırasında tartışılan tüm başlıklarını (daha güçlü bir ekonomi, sosyal adalet ve istihdam; eğitim, kültür, gençlik ve spor; dijital dönüşüm; Avrupa demokrasisi; değerler ve haklar, hukukun üstünlüğü, güvenlik; iklim değişikliği ve çevre; sağlık; dünyada AB, ve göç) konularını kapsayacaktır. İkinci bölüm ise, birincil bölümün pedagojik faydasını en üst düzeye çıkarmak üzere planlanmıştır. Daha spesifik olarak bu eğitimler sırasında, öğrencilerin Avrupa'nın geleceğine ilişkin içeriği anlama ve eleştirel düşünme becerilerini geliştirmeleri için gerekli araçların kazandırılması amaçlanmaktadır.

Ders anlatımı, sınıf tartışması, sözlü sunumlar; yazılı kompozisyonlar; gruplar halinde çalışma; okumalara dayalı tartışmalar; AB'nin Avrupa'nın geleceği ile ilgili belirli fırsatları ve zorlukları üzerine beyin fırtınası; AB politika belgesi analizleri; AB bütçesi ile ilgili güvenlik ve transatlantik ortaklık, askeri yatırımlar ve son ekonomik eğilimler ve koşullar ve bunların artıları ve eksileri ile ilgili verilerin çevrimiçi araştırılması; AB güvenlik ve dış politika ile ilgili kurum ve STK'ların taranması ve kurumun yapısı, amaçları, işlevi ve faaliyetleri ile ilgili sunumlar; temel bilgi kaynaklarının ilgili bölümlerinin kontrol edilmesi (düşünce kuruluşları, ulusal ve uluslararası makaleler, dergiler vb. ) öğretim için kullanılan yöntemler olacaktır.
