The purpose of the course is to explore the relationship between the political participants and political institutions and to how this relationship leads the construction of "political processes" that is the outcome of the complicated interaction between the participating socio-political groups and various political institutions specifically like media, interest group and other social based political institutions.

The course will cover primarily the social aspect of politics by considering the social pressures and participatory patterns of social groups and movements that relates to such issues as media, political culture, identity politics. On the other hand the course also deals with how the political leanings of a particular society can be shaped and/or manipulated by some institutions like media, public opinion polls etc.
