Bu dersin amacı Viktorya dönemini sosyo-politik ve kültürel özellikleriyle incelemek ve Romantik akımını şiirde ve resimde tanımlamaktır.

Ortak konu veya temayı paylaşan 19. yy. İngiliz şiirini aynı dönemin resmiyle karşılaştırarak yazınsal ile görsel söylem arasındaki benzerlik ve farkları tanımlama, her iki tür yapıtı kendi bünyelerinde kavramsal ve yapısal öğeleri doğrultusunda inceleme, sözel ve görsel anlatı biçimleri, anlatı ortamlarının esasları ve sosyal gereksinimler.

Sunuş yolu ile öğretim, düz anlatım, örnekleme, soru-cevap, tartışma, buluş yoluyla öğretim.
