Bu ders, tasarım pratiği ve tasarım araştırması hakkında düşünmenin altında yatan bazı temel teorik perspektifleri gözden geçirir. Ders ayrıca nitel, nicel, nesnel ve öznel, yapılandırılmış ve yapılandırılmamış araştırma yöntemlerin öğrenciler tarafından temel düzeyde anlaşılıp tasarım süreçlerinde kullanılabilmelerini amaçlamaktadır.
