The purpose of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to apply numerical methods to solve engineering problems. The course covers a range of numerical techniques for solving mathematical problems that are common in engineering practice, with a focus on computational implementation.
Introduction to numerical methods, error analysis, solutions of linear and nonlinear equations, numerical differentiation and integration, interpolation and curve fitting, numerical solutions of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), and partial differential equations (PDEs). Emphasis on the application of these methods in engineering problems.
