The purpose of this course is to provide students with a solid foundation in discrete mathematics, focusing on concepts used in computer science, logic, set theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and algorithms. Students will develop problem-solving skills and the ability to apply mathematical concepts in computing and other areas of science.
The course covers topics including logic and proofs, set theory, relations and functions, algorithms, counting techniques, recurrence relations, graphs, and trees. The emphasis is on the application of these concepts to solve problems relevant to computer science and mathematics.
