The objective of the seminar course is to enable master’s and doctoral students to prepare a study that will contribute to their current and academic development related to their fields or thesis topics in accordance with scientific research methods, and to develop their ability to present, discuss, and communicate it in front of a group.

The seminar course is a compulsory and non-credit course taken on a semester basis within the framework of master's and doctoral programs, and is completed at the end of the semester with the written submission of a seminar report and its oral presentation. The seminar course is taken starting from the second semester. The course ends with an evaluation made as Successful/Unsuccessful at the end of the semester. A seminar course that is failed must be retaken by the student in the following semester. There are several steps that need to be taken in order to prepare a doctoral seminar report. When these steps are examined; Step 1: First of all, the purpose and scope of the seminar course must definitely be determined. Step 2: In this step, the general format and scope of the seminar should be prepared. Particular attention should be paid to the outer cover binding and the design of the inner cover. Step 3: The seminar approval form, the characteristics and layout of the paper, font features, footnotes, citations, and referencing style must be prepared in accordance with the rules. Step 4: The contents of the sections must be written. The sections to be written here are; Preface, Abbreviations, Topic and sources must be clearly stated. Step 5: At this stage, the main section should be written. Introduction, Sections, Tables, figures, and maps should be written in accordance with the seminar presentation. Step 6: In the Conclusion section together with recommendations, the process should be explained and finalized with thanks. Step 7: With the Abstract and after writing the bibliography in the assignment, the process is completed. Attention should be paid to including a Curriculum Vitae in the assignment as well. Step 8: The presentation should be prepared within the scope of what has been written. In addition, an effective presentation should be made in accordance with presentation techniques and the requests of the jury members.

In the seminar course, each doctoral candidate is required to make a presentation before a three-member jury committee and must receive a good grade from the presentation. The presentation must strictly comply with doctoral regulations and be selected in connection with the topic. Here as well, a presentation must be made before a three-member jury committee.
