This is mainly a course on fundamental concepts of health psychology. It aims to introduce topics of health psychology research and the methodology applied in health psychology research.

Reviewing established theory and recent research, comprehensive health perceptions and beliefs, and behaviors, including smoking, alcoholism, and health screening, will be discussed. Also, adjustment to chronic illnesses and terminal illnesses, patient-provider relations, the effects and management of stress and pain will be discussed. Finally, illnesses will be discussed in terms of stigma, health-related quality of life, and depression. For each class, students are also responsible for assigned related articles.
