Bu dersin amacı artık son senesine gelmiş olan ve dört yarıyıldır bu dersi alan öğrencilere, Yunan ve Roma edebiyatına dahil olan herhangi bir yazar veya eseri derinlemesine ele alabilmelerini, akademik bir sunum yapmanın inceliklerini ve araştırma yöntemlerini öğretmektir.
Bu derste öğrenciler gruplara ayrılarak dersin konu başlıklarından birini seçerler ve bu konuyla ilgili yaptıkları araştırmayı bir sunumla destekleyerek sınıfla paylaşırlar.
